JUST-COAST
The JUST-COAST (Justice-Driven Integrated Transformation for Climate-Resilient Coastal Futures) project (Horizon Europe: 101296129) focuses on demonstrating, replicating, and scaling just, systemic climate change adaptation solutions for Europe’s most vulnerable coastal hotspots. The project aims to co-create place-based and people-centred adaptation pathways by combining nature-based and hybrid solutions with AI-enabled coastal Digital Twins, multi-hazard Early Warning Systems, interoperable FAIR data services, and a user-centred Resilience Platform. JUST-COAST aims to foster climate-proof critical coastal infrastructure and unlock equitable long-term finance through innovative business models and investor matchmaking.
JUST-WATER
JUST-Water (Justice-Driven Integrated Water Resilience for Climate-Adaptive European Futures) project (Horizon Europe) focuses on developing, piloting, and scaling integrated, anticipatory, and equitable water management solutions for European freshwater resources under increasing pressure from climate change and rapid population growth. Within the scope of the Integrated Water Risk and Resilience Framework (IWRRF), structured around the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus approach, the project aims to bring together AI-powered monitoring and forecasting tools, nature-based and hybrid solutions (NbS), polycentric risk governance, and green finance mechanisms, with implementation across six pilot regions in Bulgaria, France, Greece, Portugal, Malta, and Finland. Kafademi participates in the project as a cooperative partner, contributing to the modelling of socio-hydrological vulnerability and climate literacy, as well as to the smart water economy and green finance work packages.
