Climate, Energy and Just Transition

Kafademi believes that social sciences play a central role in the fight against climate change. Within the framework of the concept of energy citizenship, we believe that the active participation of individuals and communities in the formation of sustainable energy policies is the key dynamic of processes related to just transition. Cooperative members believe that the energy transition is not only a technical issue, but also a process linked to social justice. For this reason, we are developing models that encourage citizen participation in decision-making mechanisms in fair energy transition projects.

We also conduct interdisciplinary studies to understand social impacts and social acceptance processes in areas such as carbon capture technologies and supply chain risk management. Kafademi helps design fair and inclusive solutions to climate goals in Turkey and Europe by taking part in projects that address the social dimension of energy policies. In this context, one of the indicators of Kafademi‘s emphasis on energy is the publication of an international peer-reviewed journal on energy.
